Sole Physical Custody
Sole physical custody means that a child shall reside with and be under the supervision of one parents, subject to the power of the court to order visitation. Physical custody involves the day-to-day care of a child and establishes where a child will live. A parent with physical custody has the right to have the child live with them. If a child lives with only one parent, that parent has "sole physical custody" and is said to be the "custodial parent". The other parent is said to be the "non-custodial parent", and may have visitation rights or "visitation" with the child.

The norm is to give custody to the child’s biological parents, but may be transferred on to another court approved person should the parents be found unable to care for the child. Spousal Support
Spousal support is the payment of one spouse to another to provide the spouse with living expenses. Spousal support is granted when one spouse was dependent on the other’s income and life-style. The support is usually maintained while they find employment or go through training or education in order for them to find sufficient employment. Spousal support may also be given when one spouse gave up his or her own livelihood or employment to support the other in their career development. Spousal support is sometimes decided through joint arbitration or through the result of a court decision.
Adoption
Adoption is the legal avenue of obtaining of a child by non-biological parents. Adoption is one path for couples to start their family. Family members may also adopt a child in the case of the biological parents no longer being able to care for their child. Adoption is usually a very long and nerve-racking procedure.
